Waking Dead

I’m going to be in Berlin from tomorrow until Tuesday evening so if there’s any problems with the site, I won’t be able to fix them until I get back. Apologies in advance if it all goes up in a big mushroom cloud!

After what seems like an entire ice age, Waking Dead is finally ready to shamble again. You may find a few errors on the site which I’m in the process of fixing, and some of the content hadn’t been backed up since June – let me know if you spot anything weird. Anyway, hard drive failures aside things should be pretty much as they were.

Just finished an upgrade to the newest version of WordPress, and with it a different theme. I like this one, I think it suits the site a bit better. Anyway, the “My Collections” link has now moved up to the top and has been themed to match the blog. Everything else should be the same as before, but if you notice anything odd, put it in the comments and I’ll take a look at it.

First of all, apologies for the downtime. Turns out it was simply a loose patch cable after my recent bout of Spring cleaning.

Secondly, I’m afraid I’ve had to cancel my D&D subscription. If you’ve glanced at my Xbox Live! profile recently you’ll notice I’ve been playing rather a lot of Oblivion. Truth be told, its like the greatest MMORPG ever – without the tards. As you can imagine, I’ve little time for both that and D&D so one had to go. Chris and Phil are still playing, and Mike has expressed an interest so he can probably buy my copy off me. I enjoyed it sure, but it really isn’t a patch on Bethesda’s magnum opus.

Elsewhere I’ve been rekindling my love of CCGs. A chance game of Magic brought the memories flooding back, and I’m in the market for some CCG action of my own. I’ve posted on BoardGameGeek and RPG.net to this end, so check my posts there if you have any cards to offer. Not Magic I’m afraid as I don’t think I could stomach that many releases to catch up on, but there’s definitely a few other CCGs that have my interest.

I’ve just finished putting together another collection, this time for my good friend Chris. You can find a link to his collection of RPGs in the usual place, or by clicking this direct link here. I still need to get a list from him of which books he actually owns, but this should at least be a full product list for each of his RPGs.

Did you all get what you wanted? I was hoping for a TVR Tuscan but that didn’t quite work out. Still, I can take solace in the fact that everyone who bought me clothes bought me a size too small. Yeah, so I can’t wear them yet, but I’m flattered that people think I’m a medium rather than a fat b*stard.

Yep, I got one. Finally. I also gots myself a wireless network, and after much fiddling around with the hardware firewall I can now post this. Hopefully y’all can read it, too…

Umm, sorry for the distinct lack of updates recently. I got married last month and then had a lovely two-week honeymoon in Florida. Admittedly I’ve been back a couple of weeks now, but hey – I’ve been busy! Anyway, I’ll try and keep this more updated again now that everything has got back to normal(ish).

Well, I’ve just completed the move across to WordPress, and hopefully your blog-reading hasn’t been interrupted too much. Not everything is finished yet, but all the posts are back with the correct datestamps and such. I’ll try and fiddle around with the settings when I have more time to add proper links to the front page again and auto-archive my old posts. Oh, and expect a new battle report in the next few days; the Dwarfs are taking on the High Elves for control of the Ogham Stones…

I figured I’d better do something with this. Here then is the central repository for all things roleplaying, at least to do with our gaming group. So I’ll think of something to write while you busy yourself making a brew. Be right back…
